This position holds responsibility for the success and coordination of the plumbing apprenticeship program. It requires a professional attitude be modeled as well as taught and that adjunct instructors are given the support they need to successfully instruct students in their respective programs while maintaining COE compliance. Special attention should be given to program quality, student success and continual process improvement. 
 
Dixie Tech is a public technical college located in a new state of the art campus in St. George, Utah. The College has 23 programs, nationally accredited by the Council on Occupational Education, which offer certificates in various professions, as well as short term training classes in a variety of fields.    
 
Required Duties and Responsibilities: 
 
 Instruct classes four nights per week from 6 pm to 9 pm from August to November and from January to April
 Supervise, recruit, train and assist adjunct instructors
 Ensure that course objectives and CPL outcomes are met in the program
 Ensure that programs live COE standards and are in compliance
 Create and continually update syllabus and course curriculum
 Ensure competencies for all program students are reflected on each syllabi and match Northstar 
 Ensure all program registration, attendance and progress is always recorded in real-time in Northstar
 Ensure appropriate labs are being used and proper time is being spent in the lab to increase student achievement 
 Schedule industry professionals for specialized presentations and training
 Help monitor student progress, assessing needs and aiding students in making a plan for successfully completing the program.
 Plan and propose program budget, control spending
 Help manage student on-the-job-training project externships
 Assist with meetings and keeping minutes two times a year with Occupational Advisory Committees 
 Maintain communication with Occupational Advisory Committee’s. Take direction and implement decisions made by the committee.
 Help complete Employer Verification Form’s every year for each program
 Help recruit and market for programs in order to maintain full enrollment in cohorts
 The Program Manager must have adjuncts fill out exit forms for each student upon completion of the program.
 Instructor must provide Northstar and Canvas training to each of his adjunct instructors on a quarterly basis.
 Compliance with Dixie Tech Policies and Procedures
 Other duties as assigned 

 Requirements and Qualifications: 
 
 Journeyman, 5+ years of experience in field
 Instructional experience preferred
 High school diploma
 Strong interpersonal, communication and administrative skills  

This is considered a 0.8 FTE position, with the employee working approximately: 

 40 hours per week from August to November and from January to April (exclusive of school breaks);
 Ten other days per year for recruiting, preparation, administrative and professional development purposes  

The position has a salary of between $40,000 and $50,000 per year, depending upon qualifications and experience, and includes excellent benefits (medical, dental and life insurance; employer funded 403(b) retirement plan and Health Savings Account, etc.).
